Deepika Padukone on Piku: Every Woman is Born to Multi-Task

A still from the trailer of Piku

Mumbai:

Toilet humour is perhaps not what one would expect from a film with A-listers like the Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan but the first look of Piku is aflush with just that. However, since director Shoojit Sircar, the man behind Vicky Donor is an expert at handling touchy topics with tact, the humour in Piku is easy to digest.

And while constipation may hardly be a laughing matter, the cast certainly seems to be having fun with it. At the trailer launch of Piku, Big B even shared his secret to good bowel health - Isabgol. That's a bit too much information but Deepika insists there's more to the movie.

But it wasn't all just humour considering the trailer launch was a family event in more ways than one.

"I think, for me, being Piku is very relatable as a character and then, of course, there is situation within the film where everyone would identify with Piku, especially all the girls who are working and taking care of their parents simultaneously. I think women are born to multi-task. So, I think all the women will find it very relatable as of Piku's point of view."

Perhaps, it's not such a surprise that Piku seems Ms Padukone's name sake in some way as well.

On being asked "Where did the name come from?", Big B said "Deepika".
