Hollywood actor Ashton Kutcher took over the lead role in the hit show, but Sheen still managed to top Forbes's recent rich list.
Sheen pulled in earnings of $40 million, making him the highest paid TV actor between May, 2010 and May, 2011.
He is followed by Ray Romano, who earned $20 million, for
Men of A Certain Age.Steve Carell is in third, with his $15 million pay cheque from
The Office, with
Ncis star Mark Harmon coming in fourth with $13 million.
Sheen's former co-star Jon Cryer and former CSI actor Laurence Fishburne were joint fifth with $11 million each.
Also in the top 10 were
Grey's Anatomy's Patrick Dempsey with $10 million,
The Mentalist star Simon Baker,
House's Hugh Laurie and
Law & Order: SVU star Christopher Meloni all tied with $9 million.
