Bengaluru International Film Festival from Dec 15

Highlights

  • The fourth edition of Bengaluru International Film Festival (BIFFES) will be held here from December 15 to 22.

  • As many as 20 Kannada films would be screened during the festival out of the total of 179 international and world films, he said.
  • Renowned Iranian film director Dariush Mehrjui would take part in the inaugural ceremony and five of his films would be

  • The five films would be 'The Cow', 'The Lodgers', 'Sara', 'The Pear Tree' and 'The Music Man', Nagabharana said.
  • "Under the Indian film category, two Kannada films namely 'Sandhyaraaga' and 'Vasantsena' would be screened," he added.
  • Selection of the films invited for screening at the festival was made by an expert committee and prizes would be awarded by jury panels comprising Indian and International members, Nagabharana said.
  • The fourth edition of BIFFES would feature both competition and non-competition sections, he said, adding that the former section has four categories namely World Cinema Award, Asian Cinema Award, Indian Cinema Award and Kannada Cinema Award.
