Casino Royale opposite Daniel Craig, however will not take a break from acting completely.
She has signed up to star in Henrik Ibsen's
The Master Builder at London's Almeida Theatre from November.
Arterton has previously confessed she didn't think she would ever get married and imagined a life filled with cats as she got older.
"It takes you by surprise. I always thought I was going to end up an old spinster, with my cats and fur coats," she said.
