Bollywood's wives gathered at Akshay Kumar's sister's salon for a pre-karva chauth bash

Yesterday Akshay Kumar's sister Alka hosted a pre-karva chauth bash at her salon in Andheri. And Bollywood wives showed up to get mehndi applied on their hands along with a few spa treatments.

Although every year B-Town wives gather together and carry out the rituals, this is the first time someone hosted a pre-karva chauth party at a salon.

Twinkle has been observing the one-day fast ever since she married Akshay. The Khiladi, loving husband that he is also fasts the whole day to keep his wife company.

Twinkle said, "I really don't believe in religious things but karva chauth is a sweet ritual and I follow it because it makes my family happy."

This time however, the star wife might not be able to abstain from food and water all day as she is suffering from an allergy attack and has been advised to take medication and rest.

Akshay who was there, to offer his support to his sister added, "I have always been supportive of my wife and sister's business ventures.

While Tina runs an interior designing company, Alka runs a beauty spa where she makes people look as beautiful as her."

Akshay's sister's bash was called 'blast before the fast'. She explained, "People are generally in a karva chauth and Diwali pre-festive mood so I decided to have a pre-karva chauth event.

I decorated my salon Aroma Garden like a small flea market with chudiwala, bindiwalas, paani puri sellers and candles.

There are mehndi girls and girls giving head and foot massages, polishing, hair and other stuff which people do for karva chauth. It was fun."
