A special screening of Gold was hosted in Mumbai on Tuesday and it was attended by several celebrities. Heading the screening was film's leading lady Mouni Roy. All eyes were on Mouni Roy as she arrived in a red dress. Akshay Kumar, who plays the lead role in Gold was not present at the screening but the other members of the cast, including Kunal Kapoor, Amit Sadh and Vineet Kumar Singh hosted the guests. Vicky Kaushal and several other celebs came to watch the Reema Kagti-directed film.

Mouni Roy's cheer squad at the screening comprised renowned television personalities such as Aamir Ali, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Aamna Sharif and Aashka Goradia.

Farhan Akhtar, who has produced the film along with Ritesh Sidhwani, was well represented by his family members at the screening. Farhan's sister Zoya Akhtar and his mother Honey Irani wouldn't have missed Farhan's film for the world. Farhan's father Javed Akhtar was accompanied by his wife and veteran actress Shabana Azmi.

Gold is set against the backdrop of 1948 and it traces the journey of Tapan Das, a hockey coach who wishes to win an Olympic gold medal for independent India. The film has extensively been shot in UK and India. Gold marks the Bollywood debut of television actress Mouni Roy.

Gold opened in theaters today along with John Abraham's Satyameva Jayate.
