Driver steals employer's credit card, goes on shopping spree

New Delhi: Gold jewellery worth one lakh purchased with a stolen credit card was recovered from one Jaspreet Singh Bhatia, 25, from his hideout in Uttam Nagar.

Ashok Kumar, a jewellery shop owner in Avantika, had reported that on October 23, at 1.35 pm, a man, about 25 years of age, came to his shop and purchased jewellery worth more than one lakh rupees. He made the payment through a credit card but failed to produce any identity proof.

Meanwhile, a telephone call was received from an unknown person who said that the credit card, which was used in this case, belonged to one Keshav Bhagat, and that the card had been reported missing.

During interrogation, Jaspreet confessed his crime and told the police that he was working as a driver for Keshav Bhagat, who currently resides in Moscow, Russia.
