Various areas in the city continued to reel under acute water shortage with neighbouring Haryana cutting supply of water to Delhi.
Delhi Jal Board officials said production of water at various treatment plants was affected for fourth consecutive day due to the neighbouring state's refusal to improve supply to the city.
Various areas in Central, South and West Delhi faced water shortage due to cut in supply of water by Haryana, said DJB officials.
Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit has written to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh yesterday seeking his intervention in making Haryana release adequate quantity of water to Delhi.
Sheila Dikshit has also requested the Prime Minister to find an early solution to the lingering Munak canal issue between Delhi and Haryana.
A GoM headed by Home Minister P Chidambaram was set up last year by the Prime Minister after Delhi and Haryana failed to resolve the dispute.
The Munak canal was constructed by Haryana with financial assistance of around Rs 412 crore given by Delhi government on the condition that the national capital will be supplied 80 million gallons per day (MGD) of water from it. But later, Haryana refused to supply the water to the city.
DJB officials said production of water at various treatment plants has gone down by 40 million gallon per day due to short supply of raw water by Haryana.
