Jama Masjid firing: Kalmadi discusses security with Delhi Police
New Delhi: Against the backdrop of the firing incident near Jama Masjid in New Delhi, Commonwealth Games Organising Committee (OC) Chairman Suresh Kalmadi has met Police Commissioner Y S Dadwal and discussed security-related issues.

Kalmadi drove to the city police headquarters and held talks with the police chief as several countries expressed concern over the security situation following yesterday's incident.

The Commonwealth Games will be held in the city from October 3. After the incident, Kalmadi had said he has spoken to many Commonwealth countries and "nobody was worried".

Two unidentified motorcycle-borne attackers yesterday shot and injured two Taiwanese nationals outside the Jama Masjid here which was followed by a crude pressure cooker bomb blast in a car in the same area.

The US, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand have issued travel advisories to its citizens warning them against a high risk of terror attack ahead of the Commonwealth Games next month.

Home Minister P Chidambaram held a meeting with senior police officials at the police headquarters yesterday and reviewed the security situation following the incident.

Chidambaram went to the Police Headquarters after visiting the two injured Taiwanese at the LNJP hospital.
