Non-teaching staffs lock university

Patna: Non-teaching employees of Patna University on Wednesday locked all offices of the institution and affecting its functioning for the day demanding regular payment of their salary and revised pay scales.

Hundreds of employees under the banner of the Patna University Non-teaching Employees Unions assembled at the campus and locked all the offices, official sources said.

They also locked the offices of the vice-chancellor and pro-vice chancellor, they said.

They were demanding that immediate steps be taken by the state government for ensuring regular payment of their monthly salaries and effecting revised pay scales in keeping with the recommendations of the UGC, the sources added.
