New Delhi: Reacting to Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi's jibe calling his government 'suit-boot ki sarkaar', Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said the Congress was still smarting from its crushing defeat in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls. In an interview to the Press Trust of India, PM Modi rejected charges of concentration of power in the Prime Minister's office and said, "Extra-Constitutional authorities were really wielding power in UPA regime."

Here are the highlights of PM Modi's interview:

  1. Prime Minister and the PMO are very much part of the constitutional scheme. Extra-Constitutional authorities were really wielding power in UPA.

  2. Violence or any discrimination against any community will not be tolerated

  3. Any suggestions on land bill favouring the poor, the farmer, and villages will be accepted by the government.

  4. Passage of both Goods and Services Tax (GST) and the proposed Land Acqusition laws is a matter of time.

  5. Congress has not been able to digest its crushing defeat in Lok Sabha polls even after a year.

  6. Our focus will be on pro-active, pro-people good governance reforms.

  7. Opposition levelling baseless allegations about my foreign trips.
