Patna: Seconding Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad today said that Bihar did not need a 'Gujarat model' or a leader "imported" from Gujarat for its development.

Mr Nitish Kumar too said today that only a Bihari would run Bihar, and not outsiders.

"We Biharis have full confidence, self-respect and capability to work hard for the development of Bihar. There is no need of a Gujarat model or an imported leader from Gujarat for development," RJD chief Lalu Prasad said in his latest post on Twitter.

Mr Nitish Kumar on Saturday and Sunday said that Bihar did not need the Gujarat model for development. "Bihar has its own model of development," he said.

The Chief Minister said today in his election rallies that Bihar would be run by a Bihari, and not outsiders. He said similarly Bihar would be developed by people of the state and not outsiders.

"You (people) have to decide who will work for the development of Bihar, a Bihari or a 'bahri' (outsider)," Mr Nitish Kumar said.

He said outsiders would forget Bihar after the polls, as they forgot all the promises made during the Lok Sabha elections in 2014.

Both Mr Lalu Prasad and Mr Nitish Kumar have targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah, who have claimed to form the next state government led by the BJP.
