Volkswagen Tayron R-Line To Launch In India Tomorrow: All You Need To Know

Volkswagen had earlier unveiled the Tayron R-Line for the Indian market. Following the reveal, the brand began pre-bookings for the model and is ready to launch the SUV tomorrow (February 19). With the launch of the model, the automaker will enter the premium three-row SUV segment. Customers who wish to get the flagship seven-seater can pay a token amount of Rs 51,000 at authorized dealerships or through Volkswagen's online platforms for booking.

Volkswagen Tayron R-Line: Powertrain

The Tayron R-Line will be assembled locally in India. Built upon the MQB EVO platform, which it shares with the Tiguan R-Line, this three-row model is equipped with a 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine that generates 204 hp and 320 Nm of torque, combined with a 7-speed DSG and a 4MOTION all-wheel-drive system. Volkswagen states that the SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 7.3 seconds and achieve a maximum speed of 224 kmph.

Volkswagen Tayron R-Line: Design

In line with its positioning, the Tayron R-Line is being launched as a fully equipped model with features that many claim are class-leading. On the exterior, it features IQ. Light HD Matrix headlamps, R-Line design elements, 19-inch alloy wheels, and illuminated logos at both the front and rear. Volkswagen asserts that the SUV maintains traditional SUV proportions while exuding a premium German design aesthetic.

Volkswagen Tayron R-Line: Interior, Features

The interior emphasizes space and comfort, boasting a spacious layout, a panoramic sunroof, and ergonomic front seating. The dashboard is highlighted by a 15-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 10.25-inch digital cockpit, and an AR head-up display. The front seats provide 12-way electric adjustments with memory, ventilation, a massage function, and lumbar support, while the ambient lighting system offers 30 color choices, featuring an illuminated R insert on the dashboard.

Volkswagen Tayron R-Line: Safety

In terms of safety, the Tayron R-Line is outfitted with nine airbags, electronic stability control, hill ascent and descent assist functions, and several driving modes through driver profile selection. Additionally, it includes Level 2 ADAS equipped with 14 assistance features. Other notable aspects comprise a 3-zone climate control system, a gesture-controlled tailgate, a 700-watt Harman Kardon audio system, dual high-power USB-C ports, and wireless charging capabilities.
