Royal Enfield, the iconic motorcycle brand with a legacy spanning over a century, has finally entered the electric two-wheeler space with the launch of its first EV, the Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6. With its arrival, the Flying Flea C6 has sparked strong curiosity among enthusiasts, who are eager to know how the motorcycle performs and what RE has brought to the table with its maiden electric offering. Building on this curiosity, Narayan Subramaniam, CEO of Bangalore-based electric two-wheeler manufacturer Ultraviolette Automotive, has now experienced the Royal Enfield Flying Flea firsthand.
The video has been shared by Narayan on his Instagram handle. Narayan Subramaniam described Royal Enfield's entry into electric motorcycles as a purposeful and much-needed move toward the future. After riding the Flying Flea through Jayanagar, he noted its peppy, easy-going city-friendly character and said it still feels like a true Royal Enfield at heart, just electrified. He also welcomed stronger competition in the EV space, adding that multiple brands pushing different philosophies will only accelerate innovation and make the electric motorcycle future more exciting. Further in the post, the Ultraviolette CEO also congratulated Siddhartha Lal and the RE team for their maiden electric two-wheeler.
Talking about the details, the Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6 features a 15.4 kW (20 hp) PMSM electric motor and is powered by a 3.91 kWh battery pack. As per the reported specifications, the C6 can accelerate from 0 to 60 kmph in just 3.7 seconds and achieve a maximum speed of 115 kmph. It has a claimed IDC range of 154 km, and the onboard charger can recharge the battery from 20 percent to 80 percent in approximately 65 minutes.

The Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6 is loaded with features like all-LED lighting, Google-based onboard navigation, wireless phone charging, cornering ABS, traction control, and ride modes like Sport and Individual. The Individual mode allows the rider to customize the traction control, ABS intervention, and throttle response.

In the Indian market, the prices of the Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6 begin from Rs 1.99 lakh (ex-showroom), with the BaaS options. Meanwhile, the prospective buyers considering to buy RE's first electric two-wheeler without the BaaS option and paying the full cost up front can get it at Rs 2.79 lakh (ex-showroom).
