
TVS, the Indian two-wheeler giant, has entered a new category with its latest electric offering. The brand has teased the TVS M1-S maxi-scooter in Indonesia, marking its first electric scooter and also its debut in the maxi-scooter segment. Interestingly, the M1-S is originally developed by ION Mobility and is officially named the ION M1-S. TVS is a strategic investor in ION Mobility and plays a key role in supporting its intellectual property, operations, and other business functions.
Talking about the specs, the ION M1-S Maxi Scooter derives its power from a 4.3 kWh battery pack that is capable of pushing out a peak power and torque output of 16.76 hp and 45 Nm. The electric maxi-scooter boasts a top speed of 105 kmph and can sprint from 0-50 kmph in just 3.7 seconds. It also claims to deliver a range of 150 km on a single charge.

The TVS ION M1-S gets an aggressive front design, as seen on the other maxi scooters in the Indian and international markets. It gets twin headlights and eyebrow-shaped LED DRLs. The brand has also integrated the indicators alongside the side body cladding. Also, it has a flat floorboard, a single-piece seat, and a rear grab rail.
While the exact feature list will be disclosed post-launch, the TVS ION M1-S gets a 7-inch TFT screen that probably supports connectivity for music, turn-by-turn navigation, SMS & call alert, and more. It also has a smart key feature.
While the brand has been tight-lipped about its plan to launch the maxi-scooter in India. Considering TVS's interest in its home market, it is expected that the brand will bring the TVS M1-S electric maxi-scooter to India after Indonesia.
