Suzuki Burgman 400 Scooter Showcased In India Following 125 cc Launch

Suzuki Motorcycle India turned heads at the recent Suzuki Matsuri festival in Mumbai by unveiling the Burgman 400 maxi-scooter, hot on the heels of its updated Burgman Street 125 launch. The showcase has sparked buzz among riders eager for premium two-wheelers in a market shifting toward lifestyle options. While no launch date is set, the display hints at Suzuki gauging interest for this global favorite.

This premium maxi-scooter stands out with flowing lines, a wide seat, a tall windscreen, and spacious ergonomics suited for city runs or highway jaunts. It dwarfs entry-level scooters, offering 42 litres of under-seat storage plus front compartments for practicality. Dual LED headlamps and a sturdy build scream touring readiness, appealing to urban professionals seeking style without compromise.

At its core sits a 400cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine mated to a CVT automatic, churning out about 28.5 bhp and 35 Nm of torque. The engine is said to be focused on smooth operations rather than performance-oriented design. Link-type rear suspension with preload adjustment and 15-inch front/13-inch rear wheels ensures stability. The stopping power comes from twin-disc brakes at the front end and a single disc at the rear end.

These touches position it against rivals like the BMW C 400 GT. The BMW scooter comes at a price of Rs 11.25 lakh (ex-showroom).
