Nissan is finally getting ready to expand its SUV lineup in India with the launch of the upcoming Nissan Tekton. The new mid-size SUV will officially make its debut on July 9, 2026, and it will directly rival popular models like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder and even the recently launched Renault Duster.

Nissan Tekton: Platform

The Nissan Tekton will be based on the same CMF-B modular platform as the new Renault Duster. However, Nissan has worked on giving the SUV its own unique identity. Unlike the rugged and tough-looking Duster, the Nissan Tekton is expected to offer a slightly more premium and urban design language.

Nissan Tekton: Exterior & Design Expected

At the front, the Nissan Tekton will feature a larger grille with more chrome elements, slimmer LED DRLs and connected LED lighting. The SUV is also expected to get a muscular bonnet, squared wheel arches and an upright SUV stance inspired by the global Nissan Patrol. In fact, reports suggest Nissan internally calls it the "Baby Patrol."

It is also expected to ride on newly designed 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 225-section tyres. At the rear, a full-width LED light bar and connected tail lamps are likely to be offered.
