Hyundai Creta Rival Nissan Tekton SUV Spotted Testing - Launch Soon
Nissan Tekton

Nissan is preparing to launch the Tekton SUV in India, positioned in the 4.2 to 4.5-metre mid-size category. Built on the same platform as the new-generation Renault Duster, the Tekton has been spotted several times under camouflage, with recent test mules seen around Pimpri near Pune. These sightings highlight its proportions and strong road presence. Unlike the rugged Renault Duster, Nissan is expected to give the Tekton a more refined design, taking inspiration from larger global SUVs like the Nissan Patrol.

Nissan Tekton SUV: Exterior & Design

The Nissan Tekton spotted with steel wheels is most likely the base variant. Highlights include squared wheel arches, C-pillar mounted rear door handles, and a curvy roofline. At the back, it gets a roof-mounted spoiler, raked windshield, connected C-shaped LED taillamps, and a bold bumper. Although the front wasn't captured, the Tekton is known to feature top-mounted LED DRLs, a full-width LED bar, sharp LED headlamps, a rectangular grille with twin chrome bars, rugged bumper protectors, a sculpted bonnet, and prominent TEKTON 3D badging. Dimensionally, the Tekton will be similar to the new Duster, which measures 4,345 mm in length, 1,815 mm in width, 1,703 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,657 mm.

Nissan Tekton SUV: Interior & Features

The Nissan Tekton will stand apart from the Renault Duster with its own dashboard layout, upholstery choices, and interior theme, though several components will still be shared between the two SUVs. Higher trims of the Tekton are expected to pack premium features such as a dual-screen setup combining the infotainment system and instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, front ventilated seats, an advanced air filter with AQI display, automatic dual-zone climate control, and wireless smartphone charging. On the safety front, a full ADAS suite is anticipated, giving the Tekton a modern edge in its segment.

Nissan Tekton SUV: Powertrain

Engine options are yet to be confirmed, but the Tekton is expected to share the Duster's upcoming powertrains: a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol, a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol, and a 1.8-litre turbo-petrol hybrid. This range will allow Nissan to target both efficiency-focused buyers and performance enthusiasts. The Tekton will rival the Tata Sierra and marks Nissan's second launch of the year after the Gravite MPV. A three-row SUV based on the Tekton is also planned, set to compete with the Hyundai Alcazar, Kia Carens, Tata Safari, Mahindra Scorpio N, and MG Hector Plus.
