Kia Seltos
In the Indian market, the Kia Seltos is the safest SUV rated by the Bharat NCAP. In Child Occupant Protection (COP), the Seltos scored 45 out of 49 points. It achieved a full 24/24 in dynamic testing and 12/12 for child restraint system (CRS) installation. The rearward-facing 18-month-old and 3-year-old child dummies scored maximum marks in both frontal and side crash evaluations. The only deduction came in the vehicle assessment section, where it received 9 out of 13 points, but this still ensured a 5-star overall rating.

Renault Duster
In the list of the highest scoring cars in terms of Child Occupant Protection, Renault Duster is the second choice. The Renault Duster has received a 5-star safety rating at the Bharat NCAP crash test, with 45 out of 49 points in the Child Occupant Protection. It scored a flawless 24 out of 24 in the dynamic evaluation, highlighting effective restraint systems under simulated crash conditions. The CRS installation assessment also returned a perfect 12 out of 12, indicating ease and reliability of child seat fitment.

Tata Punch/ Punch EV
The Tata Punch facelift and the Tata Punch EV have scored 45 points out of 49 in Child Occupant Protection at the Bharat NCAP crash test. The SUV scored a perfect 24 out of 24 in dynamic tests and 12 out of 12 in CRS installation tests, confirming that child seats can be securely fitted. The overall vehicle assessment score stood at 9 out of 13, a decent result that still leaves room for minor improvements.
The prices of the Tata Punch begin from Rs 5.64 lakh (ex-showroom), and that of the Punch EV starts from Rs 9.69 lakh (ex-showroom).

Skoda Kylaq
If you are planning to buy a German car this mother's day, the Skoda Kylaq might be the car of your choice. Skoda Kylaq received a 5-star rating in the Bharat NCAP crash test, with a score of 45/49 in the Child Occupant protection. The prices of the Skoda Kylaq SUV begin from Rs 7.59 lakh (ex-showroom).

Toyota Innova Hycross & Maruti Suzuki Invicto
The Toyota Innova Hycross and the Maruti Suzuki Invicto are the two seven-seaters based on the same platform and have scored a full 5-star safety rating at the Bharat NCAP crash test. In terms of the Child Occupant protection, the 7-seaters bagged 45 out of 49 points.

The Toyota Innova Hycross is available at a starting price of Rs 19.53 lakh (ex-showroom). However, the Maruti Suzuki Invicto surpasses the Rs 20 lakh budget as it has a starting price of Rs 24.97 lakh (ex-showroom).

Also, if you are looking to buy a capable off-roader, you might consider the Mahindra Thar Roxx, which bagged a full 5-star safety rating at the Bharat NCAP with 45 points out of 49 in the Child Occupant Protection. It is available at a starting price of Rs 12.39 lakh (ex-showroom).
