The electric SUV space in India is witnessing rapid growth, with leading automakers reporting strong sales and preparing extensive future lineups. While conventional ICE models continue to dominate volumes, EVs are steadily carving out their place in the market. The momentum is expected to accelerate further in 2026, a year projected to be crucial for affordable electric mobility. Here's a list of 5 electric SUVs you can currently buy, under Rs 20 lakh.
Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara
The Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara has now been launched in the Indian market, at a starting introductory price of Rs 10.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The brand's maiden electric car is also offered with the BaaS model with rentals starting from Rs 3.99 per km.
The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara is offered with two battery pack options- 49 kWh and 61 kWh. The 49 kWh battery powers the front axle single motor that generates 144 hp. The larger 61 kWh battery also features a single motor, but it delivers 174 hp. Both motors generate the same torque of 189 Nm.

Mahindra BE 6
The Mahindra BE 6 has recorded high sales numbers and popularity in the Indian market, soon after its launch. The Mahindra BE6 offers two battery packs: a 59 kWh battery that provides 170 kW of power and a 79 kWh battery that offers 210 kW of power, both with 380 Nm of torque. The vehicle features a rear-wheel-drive system and can go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.7 seconds. The 59 kWh battery gives a range of up to 557 km, while the 79 kWh battery offers a range of up to 638 km.

The prices of the Mahindra BE 6 start from Rs 18.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
Hyundai Creta Electric
Hyundai continues to offer the Creta Electric with two battery options. The smaller 42 kWh pack delivers a claimed range of 390 km, while the larger 51.4 kWh pack offers up to 473 km on a single charge. Both batteries are neatly integrated into the SUV's underbody. Performance differs slightly between the two: the 42 kWh variant produces 133 bhp, while the 51.4 kWh version generates a stronger 169 bhp.

Talking about the prices, the Hyundai Creta electric is tagged at a starting price of Rs 18.02 lakh (ex-showroom).
Tata Nexon EV
Tata Nexon.ev is among the best-selling models of the brand and is sold at a starting price of Rs 12.49 lakh (ex-showroom) in the Indian market. Powering the Nexon EV 45 is a 46.08 kWh battery pack. It offers a claimed MIDC (Part 1 + Part 2) range of 489km, with 144 bhp power and 215 Nm torque. The SUV accelerates from 0-100 kmph in 8.9 seconds.

The Nexon.ev holds a key spot in Tata Motors' EV plans. In December 2025, it became the first EV in India to surpass 1,00,000 cumulative sales, showing solid demand in the mass-market segment.
MG Windsor EV
The MG Windsor EV gets two battery pack options - 38kWh and 52.9kWh. The 38kWh unit offers a range of up to 332 km and the 52.9kWh unit offers a range of up to 449 km on a single charge. The Windsor produces 134 hp and 200 Nm of torque.
Available at a starting price of Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the brand calls the Windsor EV a CUV that matches the attributes of a sedan and an SUV.
