Mahindra & Mahindra has been consistently teasing its third-born electric SUV for the Indian market, called the XEV 9S. Based on the automaker's announcement, the electric SUV will be launched in the country on November 27. Reports suggest that the prices of the vehicle will be announced on the aforementioned date, making it the first three-row electric SUV of the brand based on the INGLO platform. Once launched, it will sit at the top of the EV lineup of the brand.

Mahindra XEV 9S: Design

The Mahindra XEV 9S seems to share design similarities with the XUV700 (in terms of silhouette) available in India. A teaser showcasing the SUV from above confirmed it features a sunroof and a shark fin antenna. There's also a brief look at the back end of the SUV, but specifics remain under wraps. The front of the vehicle was revealed, highlighting an LED DRL that spans the entire width and creates a boomerang shape around the vertically arranged headlights within a triangular frame.

Mahindra XEV 9S: Interior

The previous teaser revealed the SUV's softly lit interior, exposing seat designs that incorporate side stitching and a silver plate aligning with the occupant's shoulder area. Additionally, it is expected to come with a high-quality Harman Kardon audio system, likely supporting Dolby Atmos. This sound system has already been featured in the BE6 and the XEV 9e.

Mahindra XEV 9S: Features

The teaser also suggests the inclusion of soft-touch materials across various interior parts and offers a glimpse of the button layouts. It further implies the presence of seats with a memory function and an electronic parking brake. It is also expected to have ADAS features among elements. Meanwhile, information on the seating layout remains hidden, though it is anticipated that the SUV will feature a 2-3-2 seating configuration.

Mahindra XEV 9S: Powertrain

The specifications of the Mahindra XEV 9S are expected to be similar to those of the already available XEV 9e. It is projected to come with a 79 kWh battery pack providing a range of 656 km on a single charge, whereas the XEV 9e is equipped with a 59 kWh battery pack, offering a range of 542 km per charge.
