Mahindra is preparing another mid-life update for the 3-door Thar, with fresh spy shots showing a clear shift towards the Thar Roxx's styling language and equipment. The facelift version of the popular lifestyle SUV hints at welcome changes. Although the test mule hides most of its details under the camouflage, it gives a hint at the future of the model.

The facelifted Thar retains the familiar boxy silhouette but adopts several design cues from the larger Thar Roxx. The front end is the most noticeable, with circular LED projector headlamps and C-shaped LED daytime running lamps that closely mirror the Roxx's lighting signature.

The grille is now a double-stacked, six-slot layout instead of the traditional seven-slot unit, giving a more contemporary face, while the 19-inch alloy wheels also appear to be borrowed from the Roxx. At the rear, changes are limited mainly to a revised LED tail-light signature, keeping the overall stance and spare wheel-on tailgate layout intact. Along with this, the brand seems to have changed the design of the alloy wheels.

The cabin of the 2026 Thar facelift remains under wraps in the current spy shots, but if reports are to be trusted, Mahindra will draw heavily from the Roxx's interior fit-and-finish. Anticipated additions include ventilated front seats, front power windows, an auto-dimming interior rear-view mirror, power-folding outside rear-view mirrors, keyless entry with push-button start, and a wireless charging pad. To add to the aforementioned list. Rumours also point to a more advanced infotainment layout and a larger touchscreen.

The Mahindra Thar facelift is expected to carry the same powertrain options forward. It will likely continue with the 2.2-litre diesel unit and a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine. These engines are paired with manual and automatic transmissions. The brand also offers the option of a 4x4 powertrain and RWD.
