With leading automakers like Tata, Kia, Hyundai, and more, strengthening their EV presence in India, Mahindra has now stepped into the ultrafast charging arena. The company marked a major milestone in its nationwide EV infrastructure expansion by inaugurating its first dealership-based ultrafast charger, a 180 kW Charge_IN station at MGB Mobiles, Anantapur (NH-44). This installation is the first of many planned across Mahindra dealerships, forming a crucial pillar in its mission to build India's most reliable ultrafast charging network.
This milestone significantly expands the Charge_IN ecosystem, complementing the 250 highway fast-charging stations already announced. The new 180 kW ultrafast chargers will allow EV users to power up quickly and conveniently at strategically located dealerships nationwide, backed by 24X7 on-ground support. Together with Tesla's entry, Mahindra's initiative signals a new phase of competition and collaboration, accelerating India's transition toward robust, accessible, and future-ready EV infrastructure.
Mahindra earlier inaugurated its first two Charge_IN ultrafast charging stations, one at Hoskote on NH75 (Bengaluru-Chennai highway) and another at Murthal on NH44, about 50 km from Delhi. Each site houses two ultrafast chargers, capable of powering up to four EVs simultaneously, marking a crucial step in strengthening India's high-speed EV backbone.

Looking ahead, Mahindra plans to establish 250 such stations equipped with 180 kW chargers, creating more than 1,000 charging points by 2027. This expansion reflects the company's UNLIMIT electric mobility vision, aligning with the government's push to accelerate EV adoption and enhance public charging infrastructure nationwide.

Mahindra's Charge_IN network is set to exclusively feature 180 kW dual-gun chargers, engineered to provide faster, more reliable, and convenient charging for electric four-wheelers. These advanced units can charge Mahindra's eSUV portfolio, including the XEV 9e, BE 6, and upcoming XEV 9S, from 20 to 80 percent in just 20 minutes. By drastically reducing charging times, the Charge_IN ecosystem aims to make long-distance electric travel more practical, efficient, and stress-free, reinforcing Mahindra's commitment to advancing India's EV infrastructure.

The brand said the Charge_IN stations will be strategically located along India's busiest highway corridors, ensuring maximum convenience for long-distance travellers. Each site will be co-located with popular wayside amenities such as restaurants and cafes, transforming charging stops into natural halting points. Drivers can relax, enjoy a coffee, or grab a meal while their electric vehicle undergoes ultrafast charging. This integration of lifestyle and infrastructure makes EV journeys smoother, more practical, and stress-free, encouraging wider adoption of sustainable mobility across the country.
Mahindra's Charge_IN ecosystem will be seamlessly accessible through the company's Me4U app, allowing eSUV owners to locate stations, initiate charging, and make payments with ease. Importantly, these fast-charging facilities will not be limited to Mahindra vehicles alone. Other EV users can connect via the dedicated Charge_IN by Mahindra app or through leading aggregator platforms. By opening access to multiple brands, Mahindra is building an inclusive, interoperable charging network that strengthens India's EV infrastructure and supports mass adoption.
