Lexus India has initiated a voluntary recall campaign for certain units of its LM, LX, LS, NX, and RX models. This recall impacts a total of 1,588 vehicles and is intended to update the software of the Parking Assist ECU, which is part of the Panoramic View Monitor (360-degree camera) system displaying the rear-view image.
The recall includes 258 units of the LM manufactured from April 2024 to August 2025, 136 units of the LX manufactured from August 2022 to July 2025, six units of the LS manufactured from November 2022 to August 2023, 443 units of the NX manufactured from November 2021 to February 2025, and 745 units of the RX manufactured from May 2022 to June 2025.

In its official statement, the automaker said, "The Subject vehicles are equipped with a Parking Assist ECI, which is a component of the panoramic view monitor (PMV) system that displays the rearview image. An error in the software of this ECU may cause. (1) The rearview image to freeze briefly during the backing event if reverse is selected within a specific time after ignition is turned on; or (2) the rearview image not to display on the next ignition on if the ignition is turned on and off within a specific time."
Lexus has confirmed that no related issues or incidents have been reported in India. This recall is a precautionary measure to ensure safety and reliability throughout its vehicle lineup. As part of the procedure, Lexus Relationship Managers will get in touch with affected customers directly to arrange for the software update. This announcement follows closely after Toyota, the parent company of Lexus, issued a similar recall for the Camry, Vellfire, and Land Cruiser to resolve the same software issue.
