Delhi Lok Adalat On May 9: Here's How To Register, Pay Fines, And Clear Challans

If you have old, pending traffic challans on your vehicle and are looking for an easy way to settle them without lengthy legal procedures, there's good news. Delhi will host a National Lok Adalat on May 9, 2026, offering motorists an opportunity to resolve eligible challans either by paying a reduced fine or, in some cases, getting them waived. The initiative is aimed at a quick and amicable settlement of minor offences and is conducted across all district courts in the capital.

Delhi Lok Adalat: Date

The National Lok Adalat will be held on May 9, 2026, across all district courts in Delhi. These include Karkardooma, Saket, Patiala House, Rouse Avenue, Dwarka, Rohini and Tis Hazari courts. Proceedings will take place from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, allowing vehicle owners to choose a court based on convenience or the area where the challan was issued.

Delhi Lok Adalat: How To Register

Registration is mandatory to participate in the Lok Adalat.

• Registration window: From May 4 to May 7, 2026, starting at 10:00 am

• Daily limit: Tokens will be issued for 50,000 challans per day, with a total cap of 2 lakh challans

After booking a slot, applicants must download and print the challan copy and keep the appointment letter with a token number, which will be required at court.

Delhi Lok Adalat: What Challans Can Be Paid?

Only minor traffic offences are eligible for settlement at the Lok Adalat. These include:

• Riding without a helmet
• Driving without a seat belt
• Over-speeding
• Jumping traffic signals
• Improper or illegal parking

Serious offences such as drunk driving, hit-and-run cases, or major road accidents will not be taken up. Also, only challans issued up to January 31, 2026, can be settled during this Lok Adalat.

• Carry printed copies of challans and appointment letters
