Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy put his words into action by directing his convoy to join regular traffic during his journey from Shamshabad Airport to his residence, avoiding the usual road blockades that plague VIP movements. A video of the convoy navigating alongside everyday commuters has since gone viral on social media platforms, drawing praise for the leader's commitment to public convenience.

This practical step followed closely after Reddy's firm instructions to the police on minimising disruptions caused by VIP travel. In a recent directive to the Director General of Police, the Chief Minister stressed that ordinary citizens should not face prolonged waits on roads due to official convoys. He pointed to a specific instance of severe congestion near the airport during his own travel to Delhi, urging immediate action against negligent officers and better traffic management.

Reddy's approach marks a consistent effort to curb the VVIP culture that often snarls Hyderabad's busy streets. He has repeatedly called for vehicles from the opposite direction not to be halted unnecessarily and for alternative routes to be prepared, especially during peak hours. Police officials, in response, held a video conference with field officers statewide, emphasising streamlined regulation over complete halts.

The viral footage shows the convoy moving in flowing traffic without any special route, a deliberate choice to prevent jams. This comes amid plans for a dedicated Traffic Bureau under an Additional DGP to bolster overall management, including monsoon preparations and crackdowns on illegal parking.

Field officers have been told to coordinate closely and make on-ground decisions swiftly. Hyderabad Police Commissioner and others joined the briefing, underscoring the statewide push.
