BSA Motorcycles India has launched the Scrambler 650 at a starting price of Rs 3.25 Lakh (ex-showroom) and goes up to Rs 3.41 lakh (ex-showroom). This is the second model in the manufacturer's lineup, joining the Gold Star 650, and has already been on sale in the international market for a while. It will represent the brand against the Royal Enfield Bear 650, which until now has been the only motorcycle of its kind. Here's what we can expect from the motorcycle.
BSA Scrambler 650: Engine
The BSA Scrambler 650 shares its engine with the Gold Star 650, which is already available in India. It gets the same powertrain as the international-spec model and is equipped with a 652 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled motor that produces 45 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 55 Nm of maximum torque at 4,000 rpm. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel via a six-speed transmission.
BSA Scrambler 650: Hardware
Built on the same chassis as the Gold Star 650, the BSA Scrambler 650 features a modified sub-frame. It includes gaitered 41 mm telescopic forks at the front and dual shock absorbers at the rear, both offering preload adjustability.

For braking, the motorcycle is fitted with a 320 mm front disc brake combined with Brembo twin-piston floating calipers, and a 255 mm rear disc brake equipped with a single-piston caliper. This braking system is paired with a 19-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel, both mounted with Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tires. Consequently, the Scrambler has a seat height of 820 mm, which is 400 mm higher than that of the Gold Star.
BSA Scrambler 650: Design
In terms of design, the BSA Scrambler 650 showcases a neo-retro style similar to that of the Gold Star, but with a more rugged appearance. It features a new round headlamp that is smaller than that of the Gold Star. It gets number '65' decals, which represent the 650 cc engine of the motorcycle.
