The number of motorcycles under the umbrella of Classic Legends is going to expand with the launch of the new BSA Scrambler 650. Until now, the brand has been teasing the model on social media with cryptic teasers, keeping the details a secret. However, the model is already on sale in the international market. When launched in India, it will be a prime rival to the Royal Enfield Bear 650. Here's what we can expect from the motorcycle.

BSA Scrambler 650: Engine

In the international market, the BSA Scrambler 650 shares its powertrain with the Gold Star 650 already on sale in India. It comes with a 652 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, which puts out 45 hp of power at 6,500 rpm and 55 Nm of peak torque while revving at 4,000 rpm. The power is routed to the rear wheel via a six-speed gearbox.

BSA Scrambler 650: Hardware

Built on the same frame as the Gold Star 650, the BSA B65 features a redesigned sub-frame. It is equipped with gaitered 41 mm telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear, both of which allow for preload adjustment.

The braking system consists of a 320 mm front disc paired with Brembo twin-piston floating calipers and a 255 mm single disc featuring a single-piston caliper at the rear. The brakes are fitted to a 19-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel, both shod in Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tires. Consequently, the bike offers a seat height of 820 mm, which is 400 mm taller than that of the Gold Star.

BSA Scrambler 650: Design

In terms of design, the BSA Scrambler 650 showcases a similar neo-retro aesthetic as seen in the Gold Star. However, the design takes a more rugged approach. Notably, the bike features a new round headlamp that appears smaller than the one found on the Gold Star.

To emphasize its off-road potential, the model is designed with a prominent beak and a straightforward fuel tank that integrates seamlessly with the single-piece seat. Reflecting the scrambler style, the bike has a long tail complete with round taillights and indicators.
