BMW F450 GS India Launch Tomorrow: All About The KTM 390 Adventure Rival

The BMW F 450 GS is all set to launch in India tomorrow, marking BMW Motorrad's entry into the competitive mid-capacity ADV space. Positioned as a rival to the KTM 390 Adventure, this new offering promises a strong mix of performance, features, and adventure-ready design for touring enthusiasts. 

BMW F450 GS: Design

The BMW F 450 GS carries a sharp and purposeful design inspired by its bigger siblings like the BMW R 1300 GS. It features a sculpted fuel tank, aggressive side panels, and a signature beak-style front that enhances its ADV identity. The front fascia stands out with its distinctive X-shaped LED DRLs, giving it a modern and bold appearance. A sleek tail section further complements its sporty yet rugged stance, making it look ready for both city commutes and off-road trails.

BMW F450 GS: Features

BMW has equipped the F 450 GS with a host of modern features to appeal to tech-savvy riders. It comes with a fully digital TFT display offering smartphone connectivity and essential ride data. Additional highlights include an easy ride clutch, adjustable levers, and heated grips for added comfort. The inclusion of Quickshifter Pro allows clutchless gear shifts, enhancing convenience and riding experience, especially during long-distance touring.

BMW F450 GS: Hardware

Built for versatility, the BMW F 450 GS rides on a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel setup, suitable for mixed terrain riding. Suspension duties are handled by 43 mm USD front forks with adjustable settings, paired with a rear monoshock. The motorcycle is expected to weigh around 175 kg, although the final kerb weight may be slightly higher. This setup ensures a balance between off-road capability and on-road stability.

BMW F450 GS: Engine And Performance

Powering the BMW F 450 GS is a newly developed 450cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine. Developed in collaboration with TVS Motor Company, this motor produces 48 hp and 43 Nm of torque. The engine is tuned to offer a smooth yet responsive performance, making it suitable for both highway cruising and light off-road adventures.
