Bajaj Motorcycles has been downsizing its engines to capitalise on the new GST slabs, which imply a lower 18 pc GST on sub-350cc motorcycles. Recently, Bajaj launched the downsized version of the Bajaj NS400Z; previously, the Bajaj-owned KTM had the 349cc version of the KTM 390 Duke. The Bajaj NS400Z is tagged at a starting price of Rs 1.94 lakh (ex-showroom). On the other hand, the KTM 390 Duke with the new 350cc power mill is available at Rs 2.77 lakh (ex-showroom). The 350cc 390 Duke saves Rs 62,000 over the 390 Duke R at Rs 3.38 lakh.
