2027 Hyundai Creta Spied Testing: Here's Everything We Know So Far

Hyundai is working on the next generation of the Creta, and test mules have been spotted multiple times in recent months. The latest sighting happened in the United States, marking the first time the new Creta has been caught testing on American roads. While the SUV was heavily camouflaged, the spy shots reveal quite a bit about what to expect.

2027 Hyundai Creta: Exterior

The most obvious change in the 2027 Hyundai Creta is its size. The current Creta measures 4,330 mm in length, and the new model is expected to grow to somewhere around 4,400-4,500 mm. This is made possible by the new K3 platform, the same underpinning used in the second-generation Kia Seltos. The new platform also brings better structural rigidity, lower noise levels, and improved driving dynamics.

The overall design appears more upright and boxy compared to the current model's slightly rounded look. Visible styling details include rectangular headlamps, new alloy wheels, dual-tone ORVMs with integrated turn signals, and a shark fin antenna. Earlier spy shots had also revealed pixel-style lighting elements at the front and rear.

The larger footprint is expected to translate into a more spacious cabin and a bigger boot, both of which matter in a competitive segment where rivals like the Tata Sierra and Renault Duster already offer generous luggage space.

2027 Hyundai Creta: Interior And Features

Inside, the new Creta is expected to get a larger infotainment screen and instrument cluster, along with a refreshed user interface. The steering wheel is likely to carry Hyundai's new four-dot logo. Comfort features such as Boss Mode for the front passenger seat and proper headrests for all rear passengers are also expected. The ADAS package and connected car technology are likely to see upgrades as well.

2027 Hyundai Creta: Powertrain Options

At launch, the 2027 Hyundai Creta is expected to carry over the existing engine lineup - a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, a 1.5-litre turbo petrol, and a 1.5-litre diesel, paired with their respective transmission options. A strong hybrid powertrain is under development and could be introduced at a later stage.

The new Creta is expected to launch in late 2026 or 2027, continuing to compete with the Tata Sierra, Renault Duster, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota HyRyder, Honda Elevate, Skoda Kushaq, and Volkswagen Taigun.
