Susheel Ravela reached police station early this morning with his lawyers. Police after initial interrogation arrested him and he will be produced before the magistrate today.

The woman had alleged that the minister's son, who was in the driver's seat, followed her in a car. She also said that she identified Susheel through the tattoo on his hand that she had noticed when he allegedly tried to pull her inside the car.

Susheel and his driver who were "heavily drunk" were taken to police station by the passers-by and the woman's husband, who reportedly witnessed the incident.

A case has been registered against under Nirbhaya Act (IPC 354 D), for stalking the woman.

Susheel had claimed in a post on social networking site Facebook that he had stopped car only to save a pup on the road and the woman started abusing him. "She misused the situation and misled the crowd because of which they lost control and started manhandling me," he said in his post.

Minister Ravela Kishore has said: "We will not interfere in the case. We (our family) have utmost respect for law and Constitution. Police investigation will reveal whether any crime took place or not."
