In an embarrassment to the Opposition party in Karnataka, the BJP, one of its MLAs was caught on camera watching pictures on his mobile phone on Wednesday.
It appeared that MLA Prabhu Chavan was flipping through the pictures as news of the day, but when he stopped at the picture of a woman politician, he apparently zoomed into the photo.
"I was only zooming into the slogan that was mentioned below her picture" said Mr Chavan.
The MLA from Bidar was also seen watching pictures of other leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress President Sonia Gandhi.
At the time the MLA was flipping through pictures, the assembly was discussing the plight of sugarcane farmers of Karnataka. The video was captured by a TV cameraman from the elevated media gallery.
When the BJP was in power, three MLAs from the party were caught on camera watching pornographic videos, causing huge embarrassment to the party.
