Madurai:
More than one lakh devotees today offered worship at the famous Goddess Meenakshi Amman temple in Madurai on the occasion of the celestial wedding of the presiding deity with Lord Sundareswarar.
The wedding is part of the nine-day annual Chitrai festival of the temple. Special feast was also arranged on the occasion.
Chairman of the temple board Trustee Karumoorthy T.Kannan, Executive Officer Jagamohan were among those who participated in the event.
Elaborate arrangements were made by the temple administration for the festival.
