Popular Delhi animal shelter Frendicoes is facing closure and has been asking for funds to help them stay afloat. The NGO is running social media campaigns to encourage people to donate and the response so far has been tremendous.

As part of their campaign, Frendicoes made this adorable video starring one of the 16 Labradors that make up the Friendicoes family. Hug is a heart patient and he needs your support.

Frendicoes is collecting funds through an online platform called BitGiving. With 358 contributors, the shelter has managed to collect over Rs 12 lakhs, over half of the targeted Rs 20 lakhs. Apart from this, they have also started a crowd speaking campaign through Thunderclap which works like an "online flash mob".

"We are really happy with the response so far. Happy to see so many people are coming out in support but we still have a long way to go. We need to get out of this web. We are hoping for more people will open their hearts," Geeta Seshamani, co-founder and Vice President of Frendicoes, told NDTV.

According to the video, Frendicoes started in 1979 as a kindness club run by a group of school children in Delhi. In last 36 years, it has emerged as one of India's biggest and well known animal shelters with more than 2,000 animals under its care.
