Provident Fund scam: Reader fails to translate judge's handwritten order

Ghaziabad: A special CBI court judge on Saturday asked his reader to translate from English to Hindi his handwritten orders in the Rs 6.58 crore Provident Fund (PF) scam, considering an application filed by a local advocate.

However, the reader said he failed to understand the writing of judge A K Singh.

On Thursday, Advocate Sanjay Tyagi requested the judge to pass orders in the scam in Hindi and not in English as the language is "unreadable" to him.

Quoting Supreme Court judge Markandey Katju, Tyagi said "judge must be kind and cooperative to litigants and advocates" and filed another application in the court on Saturday to make the order "readable". Singh accepted the application.

In his order, Singh had granted bail to all the six accused retired judges in the Provident Fund scam. The bail was granted on the basis of two sureties of fixed assets worth Rs. one lakh each.
