IAS officer suspended on sodomy charges

IAS officer suspended on sodomy charges
Bhopal:

An IAS officer was on Friday suspended on charges of committing sodomy on a panchayat secretary in Bhopal.

The suspension of Bhopal District Janpad Panchayat Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Gyaneshwar Patil was announced by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

Earlier, Sikandarabad Village Panchayat Secretary Satish Chaukse (23) alleged that Patil, an IAS officer of 2003 batch, performed the unnatural act after summoning him to the Zila Panchayat office in Bhopal late on Thursday night, police said.

Chaukse's allegations came after he and Patil were found half-clad in the office by some policemen and mediapersons, who reached there after getting a tip off.

He alleged that Patil had indulged in such objectionable acts in the past.

However, Patil rubbished the allegations saying he was being framed as he did not accept Chaukse's demand for regularising an employee, who works under him.

"I remained in the office till late last night and when I entered bathroom, Chouksey started screaming after taking-off his shirt and as I came out, the cameramen suddenly appeared and snapped our photographs," he said.

"Chouksey is blackmailing me," Patil alleged.
