Priyanka Gandhi Vadra today dispensed her latest attack on
Narendra Modi, the BJP's prime ministerial candidate, with a derision of his "RSVP" remark against her family, which leads the Congress.
At a rally recently, Mr Modi had said that the Congress is faithful to "an RSVP model - Rahul, Sonia, Vadra and Priyanka", the four members of the Gandhi family. (

"ABCD, RSVP....this is what some parties say. They aren't addressing a primary school," said Priyanka, 42, to voters in Raebareli, where she is campaigning for her mother. (

Mr Modi, 64, has commissioned a high-octane campaign as he seeks a promotion from the chief minister of Gujarat to the country's top job. The BJP and he have pitched his economic development of Gujarat as his main qualification over a hardline right-wing agenda. Mr Modi has also accused the Gandhis of deep-rooted corruption, daring them to offer an explanation for what he describes as Mr Vadra's phenomenal good fortune in his business interests.
Though Priyanka is not contesting the election, her feisty comments against Mr Modi have planted her on the political centre-stage this week. (
