Delhi Police Raises Rs.9.2 Million From Traffic Offenders

New Delhi: Delhi Police raised Rs.9.2 million from traffic offenders in just the first two months of this year, parliament was informed on Tuesday.

Minister of State for Home Haribhai Parathibhai Chaudhary told the Lok Sabha that Delhi Police prosecuted 4.3 million motorists in 2014 and collected Rs.71.04 million from them.

This slid to 3.4 million prosecutions and Rs.64.53 million in 2015, the minister said in a statement. The number of traffic challans issued in the first two months of this year totals 445,003.
