Gurgaon toll won't apply during morning, evening rush hours
Gurgaon: No toll will be charged during rush hour for cars entering or leaving Gurgaon on the Delhi-Gurgaon expressway, the Punjab and Haryana High Court has ruled. The new rules will be effective tonight.

The court had suspended for a few weeks the collection of any money at the Gurgaon toll plaza, located near Ambience mall because of the massive traffic jams caused, partly because there weren't enough lanes to handle the collection of the tax.

No toll will be charged during 8:30-10:00 am and 5:30-7:00 pm, the court said today.

The Gurgaon Traffic Police had taken the private concessionaire Delhi-Gurgaon Super Connectivity Ltd (DGSCL) to court alleging that mismanagement was creating huge traffic problems. The court had ordered the setting up of new lanes and collection windows, and the deployment of attendants with hand-held machines to collect money from the cars waiting in queue.
