Paris seared under record May temperatures as an unseasonably strong heat wave continued in the French capital. Many Parisians and visitors were seen either taking to sunbathing or sheltering in the shade as the city reached highs of more than 33 degrees Celsius (91 Fahrenheit).The UK broke its record on Monday for the hottest temperature recorded in May, after a heat wave was declared in several parts of the country. Residents and tourists sought relief at beaches, parks and searched for shade on the holiday as the temperature hit 33.5 C (92.3 F) at London's Heathrow Airport, breaking the previous record of 32.8 C (91.4 F) set in 1922 and matched again in 1944.
