Quad Unveils Major Indo-Pacific Coordination Measures: Enhanced Surveillance, Improved Port Infra

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Tuesday announced a series of new initiatives adopted at the Quad Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in New Delhi, underscoring the grouping’s growing strategic role in the Indo-Pacific. Emphasising the significance of the Quad, Rubio said the coalition represents nearly a third of the world’s GDP and close to two billion people, describing the member nations as vibrant democracies with shared economic and strategic interests. Among the key outcomes of the meeting was a new Indo-Pacific maritime initiative focused on boosting regional surveillance coordination, strengthening maritime domain awareness and enhancing cooperation among Quad members on critical security challenges.
