Convicted Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh has once again walked out of jail after being granted a 30-day parole, marking the 16th time he has received temporary release since his 2017 conviction in a rape case involving two disciples. Serving a 20-year sentence, Ram Rahim has spent over 400 days out of prison over the last several years through repeated paroles and furloughs. According to sources, he left jail early in the morning and has been allowed to stay at the Dera headquarters in Sirsa. The repeated paroles have triggered sharp political reactions in the past, with opposition parties questioning the Haryana government over the frequency of relief granted to the controversial self-styled godman. Authorities, however, maintain that all paroles are being granted according to legal provisions and jail rules.
