London has retained its crown as the world's best city for the 11th consecutive year. India has its own reason to celebrate: Bengaluru has claimed the 29th spot, recognised for its booming tech ecosystem, lush green pockets, family-friendly attractions and an increasingly impressive food and shopping scene.
The report also highlights three other Indian cities that made the global list - Mumbai, Delhi and Hyderabad - each for their own unique strengths.
Bengaluru Ranks 29: India's Silicon Valley Shines
Often called the "Silicon Valley of India," Bengaluru continues to solidify its place on the world map. The report notes that the city is not only a tech powerhouse but also a place that balances work with lifestyle. The city is far more than its tech identity.
Family-Friendly & Nature-Rich
Bengaluru ranks #1 globally for Family-Friendly Attractions, thanks to places like Bannerghatta's wildlife zone and the thrilling rides at Wonderla. It also secures #4 in Nature & Parks, an impressive feat for a city growing at such a pace.
A Global Food & Retail Hub
Food is another area where Bengaluru stands tall, earning a #3 global ranking for Restaurants. From heritage seafood at Karavalli to modern kitchens across Indiranagar, the city offers a culinary scene that appeals to both locals and travellers.
Shopping is just as diverse. With a #6 ranking in this category, Bengaluru offers everything from luxury labels at UB City to the sprawling Phoenix Mall of Asia.
Architectural icons Vidhana Soudha and Bangalore Palace continue to dominate travellers' social feeds, earning the city the #1 ranking for Sights & Landmarks.
Better Connectivity
A major update mentioned in the report is the newly opened Yellow Line, which enhances city connectivity and contributes to Bengaluru's overall rank of #19 in the Lovability index.
