Snakes usually live in dense forests or jungles, but some species also live in the ocean and are commonly found along coastal areas. A video from a Goa beach has shocked the internet, showing a woman filming a sea snake near the shore while urging her followers to stay cautious when visiting the beach. The video, shared by a woman named Anuradha Singh, shows her encountering a sea snake at Benaulim Beach in Goa. "Things you should be careful about when you come to Benaulim Beach," the woman said before narrating her experience. She then moved the camera toward the shore, pointing out a small sea snake heading toward the ocean.
"There are quite a few snakes on the beach. A few minutes ago, I saw several crows inspecting a snake. It looked pretty dead, but now it looks completely fine and is heading toward the ocean. Just be careful if you are swimming or coming ashore. Keep an eye out for snakes," she said. The video ended with an important note about sea snakes. "Sea snake bites are very rare, and they are generally not aggressive toward humans. Bites are often painless at first, so people sometimes delay treatment, and that is the biggest danger," she wrote.

In the caption, the woman also highlighted areas in Goa where sea snakes are commonly seen. "Sea snakes are actually extremely common along Goa's coastline, especially around Benaulim-Sernabatim beaches. They often drift in with the rising tide or get accidentally trapped in fishing nets and wash ashore," she wrote.

What To Do If You See A Sea Snake On The Beach
If you spot a sea snake at the beach, there's no need to panic. The woman shared some safety tips, advising people not to touch or try to move the snake, even if it looks lifeless. She also urged beachgoers to keep a safe distance while walking or swimming near the shoreline, especially during high tide. If bitten, seek medical attention immediately, as antivenom can sometimes be hard to get quickly. As the woman said, "I'm sharing this because most tourists and even locals don't realize how common sea snakes are here or how venomous they can be."
