A bizarre incident involving a snake in a toilet happened with a group of friends who were holidaying at a resort in the Philippines. While investigating a blocked toilet, the group came face-to-face with what was later believed to be a king cobra hiding inside the bathroom fixture. The incident took place at a resort in Salvador Benedicto, inside the Northern Negros Natural Park in the Philippines. Five friends were staying at the resort when one of them went into the bathroom and spotted something odd in the toilet bowl. The guest initially thought the toilet hadn't been flushed properly after seeing a dark shape in the water. But after flushing again, the group was shocked when a snake's head appeared from the pipework under the toilet.

A video of the encounter that's now online shows one of the guests carefully lifting the toilet lid and prodding the reptile with a long stick. The snake then slithered out and seemed to look straight at the person filming while flicking its tongue.

One guest, identified as Dranreb Teodoso, told The Sun the group didn't believe their friend at first. He rushed to the bathroom and used a stick to check if the snake was alive before resort staff were called to deal with the situation. The group initially thought it was a harmless water snake but after posting footage online, reptile enthusiasts said it appeared to be a king cobra, one of the world's deadliest venomous snakes.
