The station has undergone a remarkable transformation as part of Indian Railways' initiative to modernise major stations nationwide. This revamped station now offers an airport-like experience, providing travellers with a range of facilities including a fully air-conditioned lobby, high-speed elevators, 24/7 power backup and purified drinking water. Additionally, it features a spacious covered parking area, multiple retail outlets, food courts, a convention centre, office spaces and a hotel.

The emphasis on convenience and accessibility is particularly noteworthy. The station is equipped with automatic ticketing systems, clean and well-maintained platforms and clear signage, making the travel experience hassle-free for commuters. Moreover, the station complex houses a super-speciality hospital and automobile showrooms, setting an example for future multi-use transport hubs.
