India will manufacture at least 1,000 new-generation Amrit Bharat trains in the coming years while work is also underway to make trains that can run at 250 kmph, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said on Saturday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today flagged off two new Amrit Bharat trains and six new Vande Bharat trains from the redeveloped Ayodhya Dham Station.

India's first two Amrit Bharat trains will be launched by PM Modi today during his visit to Ayodhya. The first inside look of the new superfast passenger train gives a glimpse of several facilities it is equipped with.

The Prime Minister will also dedicate to the nation three railway projects worth Rs 2300 crore to strengthen rail infrastructure in the region.

The trains will run between Darbhanga in Bihar and Anand Vihar in Delhi via Ayodhya, and Malda Town in West Bengal and Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminus in Bengaluru.
