According to the All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE) released by Ministry of Education, the total number of foreign students in Indian institutions was around 46,000 in 2021-22.

Around 45,473 colleges have been registered under AISHE belonging to the 328 universities (affiliating). Of these 42,825 responded in the survey year 2021-22.

Uttar Pradesh has witnessed an increase from 8,114 colleges to 8,375 in the previous year.

As per All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE), the female enrolment in STEM courses has increased from 38.4 per cent in 2014-15 to 42.6 per cent in 2021-22 (Provisional).

In the last five years from 2015-16 to 2019-20, there has been a growth of 11.4 per cent in student enrolment.
