Though India managed to pull out a win out of nowhere to level the series 1-1, but their task of winning the series has become more difficult with Sachin Tendulkar being ruled out of the entire ODI series against South Africa due to injury.
With this, Sachin has become the fourth first-choice player to return to India, joining openers Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir, and fast bowler Praveen Kumar.
The nature of the Sachin's injury or discomfort is not yet known, but skipper MS Dhoni confirmed that "most likely he is going back". This leaves India with just one opener, M Vijay, who is not in the best of his form either.
